West Coast Fitness has engineered and manufactured an elite commercial fitness product line consisting of dumbbells, curlbars, and barbells.  This commercial solid steel welded product line is durable and maintenance free.  This significantly reduces the fitness facility?s liability exposure due to chipping finishes, loose ends, etc.  The urethane coating allows the products to withstand the harshest of fitness environments and does not ?chunk? like other coatings such as rubber.

Materials:
West Coast Fitness solid steel products are manufactured using only high quality alloy tempered steels.  Dumbbell heads are manufactured with hot rolled 1018 steel and the handles are manufacture with superior high quality cold rolled 1045 steel, which greatly increases handle strength.  Urethane coating is a high quality hard shore black urethane.

Manufacturing Process:
Weight heads are precision drilled and bored to ensure a close tolerance prior to the handle being press fitted.  The weight head is pre-heated for the expansion of the hole and the handle is press fitted throughout the dumbbell slug. This process is commonly known as interference fitting.  The handle is then double welded with a special high alloy low hydrogen welding process to re-ensure a solid one-piece design.  This manufacturing process is stronger and superior in design over bolt-together dumbbells.  Bolt together dumbbells tend to come loose and threads strip.  Heads are chamfered to prevent any sharp edges from interior cutting of the urethane coating during the use of products.  

Handles:
Dumbbell handles are 31.75mm (1.25?) in diameter.  They are knurled to provide maximum gripping by the end user then chrome plated to ensure a beautiful corrosion resistant finish.  Barbell/Curlbar handles are 25.4mm (1?) in diameter. 

Urethane Coating:
Dumbbells are preheated and then injection molded with a durable hard shore black urethane.  This creates a superior adhesion process with the steel head and urethane coating.  This urethane coating is virtually chip, scratch, and tear resistant.  Average urethane coating is approximately ? inches thick while larger dumbbells have coating up to ? inches. 

Dimensions:
Dumbbells:  All dumbbell handles measure 6? from inside head to inside head.  Head diameters are as follows:  5lb & 7.5lb are 5? diameter, 10lb through 27.5lb are 6? diameter, and 30lb through 150lb are 8? diameter.
Barbells and Curlbars: All barbell and curlbar handles measure 31.5? from inside head to inside head.  Head diameters are as follows: 20lb are 6? diameter; 30lb through 110lb are 8? diameter. 

Custom Logos:
Multi-color custom logos are available upon request.  Logos may be changed at any time in the future to accommodate facility name changes, or new logo designs as opposed to other dumbbells that may be engraved.  All numbers, lettering and custom logos are recessed and protected with a 1/16? thick clear urethane coating to protect their integrity against wear and abuse.

Shape:
All weight heads are round to match the contour of the saddle and securely rest in all industry standard dumbbell racks.  Round heads also aid the user during exercise programs preventing any unnecessary dragging over hexagonal design.

Dumbbell Yield Strength:
West Coast Fitness dumbbells have been laboratory tested at significantly high yield strengths. Testing indicated that the axial tensile strength is in excess of 24,000 lbs. while the bend test of our super high alloy handle is in excess of 45,000 lbs.
